Accessibility statement
This statement covers cadrify.org and the Cadrify app, including the door-knocking and leaflet pages volunteers use on their phones and the public pages a campaign publishes (petitions, events, forms and donation pages).
The standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Cadrify partly meets that standard today. The parts that do not are listed below.
What works
- You can reach and use the controls with a keyboard, and the control you are on is outlined.
- Each page starts with a link that skips to the main content.
- Form fields, buttons and dialogs have names a screen reader can read.
- Text meets the AA contrast ratio in the light theme.
- You can zoom the page, and choose larger text and larger buttons in your profile.
- Animation is turned off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Sign-in does not use a puzzle or image test, and you can paste into the password field or use a passkey.
What does not work yet
- Maps. Drawing a round or picking an area on a map needs a pointer. Lists of rounds, addresses and wards are available beside most maps, but not every map task has a list route.
- Drag and drop. Some boards and editors are reordered by dragging. Not all of them have a keyboard way to do the same thing.
- Charts. Some charts show figures only when you hover over them.
- Dark theme. A small number of pages have text that falls below the AA contrast ratio in the dark theme.
- Form errors. On the public forms a campaign publishes, each error is attached to its field. Inside the app, when a form is rejected the errors are announced, but on some forms they are listed together and not attached to each field.
- PDFs. The PDFs Cadrify generates, such as round sheets, call lists and tally sheets, have a title and a language but are not tagged, so a screen reader reads them as plain text without headings or table structure. The same information is on screen in the app, and round and summary data can be downloaded as a spreadsheet. Nomination papers are filled in on the Electoral Commission's own forms and keep whatever structure those forms have.
How we tested
We last tested on 5 October 2026. We scanned 166 signed-in pages and 33 public pages with axe-core in Chromium, in light and dark themes and at a 320 pixel width, tabbed through 24 pages by keyboard, and read the accessibility tree of the main sign-up, import, round and door-knocking flows. We have not yet tested with people who use assistive technology day to day, and automated checks do not find everything.
Tell us about a problem
If something does not work for you, or you need information in a different format, email support@cadrify.org. Tell us the page and what you were trying to do, and which browser and assistive technology you use if you can.
